We are looking for a Data & Application Specialist to work for a new media company in Utrecht.  It is an international company with several  price and product comparison websites and with branches in various European countries.

Job profile: Data & Application Specialist

The Data & Application Specialist is responsible for handling data and systems within the content department. This involves the content on sites that service 3,5 million people every month in several European countries. Main focus will be to manage/handle data coming from product data suppliers and webshops. Furthermore to manage all systems involved in managing content (ICECat, mapper, offertool, CMS, etc). For these activities close co-operation with several data & system suppliers is essential.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks:

· Responsible for all applications used to manage content from a functional perspective;
· Support make or buy decisions of systems;
· Responsible for documentation of all applications used;
· Responsible for knowledge sharing/transfer to other content employees;
· Responsible for initiation/follow up/testing development of internal software;
· Responsible for further improvement of the automated mapping score;
· Responsible for content management system (CMS);
· Responsible for PIM (product information management) system, offer tool, automated mapper
· Responsible for data loading;
· First point of contact for IT and CM on shop feeds;
· Technical contact for product data suppliers;
· Reporting and analysis tasks;
· Create/manage reports on productivity of the department;
· Analyze trends in automated mapping scores;
· Constantly improve the quality level of content.

Requirements: Data & Application Specialist

• Bachelor degree, preferably in IT/technical;
• Knowledge about XML, principles and tools;
• Strong understanding of data integrity;
• Knowledge about ETL principles and tools is an advantage;
• Knowledge about and experience with SQL and databases;
• Fluent in English. Skilled in other European languages is very much appreciated.
