Business Controller for an international bank.

We are looking for an ambitious and enthusiastic Finance Professional to help build the business control function and team. This team is part of the control department of an International Wholesale & Investment Bank. The banking activities has been subdivided into 2 divisions: Wholesale International and Retail International. As part of the Wholesale International division, Wholesale The Netherlands focuses on delivering solutions to Dutch large- and midcap corporates.

Job Profile: Business Controller Wholesale Bank

The Business Control function is a relatively new role, established for the purpose of supporting the International’s Wholesale Management Team. Business Control focuses on the impact that current events and trends might have on Wholesale The Netherland’s future results. Furthermore, Business Control provides performance management information on its diverse portfolio of activities, underpinned by value adding analyses and accompanied by advice. The information can be of both quantitative and qualitative nature, and either requested or unsolicited.

This is an interesting opportunity for someone who wants to employ your past experiences (third step in your carreer) and continue to develop yourself. It is the ambition of Business Control to become the sparring partner of the Management Team Wholesale The Netherlands and its individual members when the financial and economic impact of strategic decisions is concerned. But also for the business lines’ effectiveness, efficiency and capital position. You will act as the first point of contact for a range of business and back office activities. Excellent and effective communication skills are, therefore, required.
Other key elements of this job are:

• implementing the business control framework;
• a critical stand in business planning and forecasting;
• advising business lines on economic capital management;

Job Requirements: Business Controller Wholesale Bank

For this Senior Business Controller role you will need to have thorough understanding of control in general as well as substantial experience in business control. You have gained control experience in a financial institution, preferably within a wholesale and investment banking environment. Furthermore, you hold an independent opinion on current and future developments in relevant markets, the finance & control discipline and our organisation. In addition, you understand the interdependence between risk and reward and you are organisational sensitive.
You have strong analytical skills and a University degree in Business Economics, preferably complemented with a Post-university degree in Controlling (RC).

Salary depends on your experience but will be between 3.800 and 4.800 excluding secundairy benefits.
