Technical Engineer File & Print wanted for an international bank in Utrecht. You will be working in the Trading Room Support team of the IT department within our client’s international organisation. This department controls business IT processes, and services the total IT Infrastructure of the company. Although IT Infrastructure has a global focus, it uses regional organisations to service the business locally.

Job profile: Technical Engineer File & Print

Design, develop and implement IT solutions on local, regional or global level in order to make optimal use of the existing or new technologies in order to meet current and future business demands.

Functions and responsibilities of the team include:  

• Technical expertise makes that the function has a reasonable amount of freedom although boundaries are set by management. The Technical Specialist coaches and stimulates other, less senior, colleague Technical Specialists;
• The Senior Technical Engineer is responsible for his prime focus / specified field(s) of work;
• Senior Technical Engineer has a major influence on decision making based on expert knowledge (technology driven advise);
• The Senior Technical Engineer advises by the definition of Business Cases, project proposals and Project Initiation Documents (PID / IPP);
• Maintains contacts with external parties in the working field (for example: suppliers of software);
• Working on a local, regional and global level;
• Operate within policies set by the IT Policy Group of the Rabobank Group (ICT Beleidsraad) in general and within policies set by the Wholesale IT Policy Group specifically. If applicable customers policies override local policies and procedures. 

Criteria: Technical Engineer File & Print

Knowledge and required experience:

• Essential Skills:
• Strong knowledge of complex Windows Server environments (minimum 5 years);
• Working in an international banking environment;
• MCSE level qualifications;
• Excellent knowledge of DFS ;
• Excellent English and Dutch skills, both spoken and written;
• Willing to travel to London and if necessary other locations;
• Capable of thinking at a tactical and strategic level with the in dept expertise of a technical specialist;
• Proactively provide solutions or come with initiatives to either improve or make more efficient use of existing technology;
• Translates developments within the working field into practical solutions for the business;
• Provides practical, quick and transparent solutions for business needs;
• Keeps track of developments within one’s field of expertise and outside it;
• Making strategic and tactical plans for the specified knowledge area;
• Ensure maintenance of implemented products and solutions;
• Actively contributes to the Coc’s;
• Actively shares knowledge with colleagues and actively reuses existing expertise.

Desirable Skills:  

• Knowledge of ITIL practices;
• Knowledge of PRINCE 2 methodology;
• Good understanding of SAN and other enterprise storage technologies;
• Good understanding of security standards and best practice;
• Experience of ensuring conformity to regulatory compliance standards (SOX etc);
• Capacity and performance management and monitoring;
• Good understanding of disaster recovery and BCP techniques;
• Understanding of investment banking and financial markets.
