Functieomschrijving: Technical Engineer (Financial Markets)

We are looking for a experienced Technical Engineer (Financial Markets) to immediately join their team as a Junior or Senior Consultant. You will take part in the advisory, management, implementation, integration and customization of vendor products at Investment Banks and Financial Institutions, aiming to stream-line them for cutting-edge performance and business processing. As a new member of the crew you will be extensively trained in the specific vendor product tools and supported by senior colleagues. If you have previous experience in the field, adequate add-on training and parallel work with our senior associates will be arranged prior to engaging in live assignments.

Functiecriteria: Technical Engineer (Financial Markets)

They believe that you are a person with a university degree that includes financial mathematics together with some computer programming, and that you are genuinely interested in problem solving where programming skills combined with knowledge of financial theories apply. For example a degree of Master of Science, preferably within Engineering Physics, Economics of Innovation and Growth or equivalent degree. Relevant working experience, such as configuration, customization or integration of mission-critical applications, such as trading and/or risk management systems is of high relevance. Knowledge of Object Oriented architecture and progamming. Languages like Java, C++, Python and C# is highly appreciated. As a consultant in a client facing role you need excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You also possess excellent analytical skills with a strategic mindset. You are also prepared to spend periods of time travelling and working abroad. Language skills are highly regarded, particularly fluency in German.

Optional requirements:
- Relational databases: Sybase/Oracle/Microsoft SQL;
- Other software engineer skills: SQL, XML, Ruby, Pearl, SOA, Web Services;
- Testing/Automated tests (e.g. Junit);
- Proficient using e.g. Eclipse or other development environments;
- Knowledge of software development methodologies and practices (RUP, XP, UP, Scrum, UML)
