Responsibilities : Freelance Process Technologist

As a Process technologist, you are expected to clarify areas of liquid process expertise contribution & coordinate internally to deliver critical process solutions. You will identify, develop and improve liquid processes. You will implement them within a wide range of projects involving innovations, transformation, productivity, capacity, compliance, transfer, efficiency & outsourcing projects, within the European supply point network. The main unit operations in our scope are dissolving, deaeration, heat treatment, emulsification, etc. Knowledge of spray drying, dry blending, and fermentation is a plus. You are expected to have stakeholder management skills as the Process Application Team is a key partner to product developers, factories, global operations, and the quality department, amongst others.

Working in and managing projects for the European portfolio for Process Technology on both liquid and powder products: 

  • Working in and managing projects for the application of process technology, mainly on liquid products;
  • Identify, develop and implement the best process technology to produce safe products in an economical way for Specialised Nutrition;
  • Ensure absolute safe products, benefits and substantiation in close cooperation with Quality & Food Safety and consider regulatory aspects;
  • Support the implementation of new products at various supply points worldwide;
  • Ensure owned portfolio delivers PAT activities (technical assessment, laboratory/pilot plant and factory trials) on time, on track and cost (incl. process specs/documents and feasibility);
  • Acting as an important link between R&I and Operations in implementing and securing our processes, and participating in new factory projects;
  • Factory testing, implementation and technical support (best practices and troubleshooting) to factories; 
  • Set up, evaluate and maintain process specifications to enable our factories to run excellently.
     

Requirements : Freelance Process Technologist

  • Proven track record in Process Development/Technology, at M.Sc. level or similar educational background. A background in Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Bioprocessing, or similar working/thinking level obtained via experience;
  • 5 - 10 years relevant experience in a factory technology job/environment or R&I process related environment, preferably the field of liquid, dairy or plant-based processing - yet not limited to it; experience in performing optimisations, modifications and/or implementation of technologies is valuable;
  • Affinity with foods, preferably experience working in the food industry;
  • Adequately mastering food and process technology fundamentals and how to apply these in a practical way;
  • Able to lead a diverse portfolio of small and medium-sized development & factory projects;
  • Able to communicate effectively to various functions and levels (operator to director) within R&I, Operations & QFS;
  • Team player with an autonomous working attitude;
  • Enthusiastic, proactive, analytical, open-minded, curious, and has a hands-on approach;
  • Professional working proficiency in English is required; other languages are beneficial (in particular Dutch, French, Turkish, Spanish or Arabic);
  • Able and willing to travel up to 20%.

The Offer : Freelance Process Technologist

You will receive a temporary contract for 12 months through our agency, with the possibility of extension. 

The rate for this Vacancy is a maximum of 94 euros (all-inclusive)
